Job Purpose

To optimize Batch House operations to ensure the achievement of departmental production targets through safe, efficient, and quality-driven batching processes, while maintaining compliance with operational standards and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure Batch House      equipment operations and auxiliary material weighing activities are      carried out accurately, safely, and in accordance with approved work instructions.
  • Ensure proper mixing of      auxiliary materials in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs),      furnace draw requirements, and safety standards, while maintaining a      zero-accident work environment.
  • Conduct routine      weigh-checks and ensure all measurements and related records are      accurately documented during each shift.
  • Ensure effective shift      handover and job takeover processes are completed in accordance with      company policies and operational requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain      consistent product quality throughout Batch House operations, ensuring      compliance with established quality standards.
  • Promote and maintain good      housekeeping practices within the Batch House area to ensure a safe,      organized, and efficient work environment.
  • Report equipment      malfunctions, process deviations, and safety concerns promptly, and      support corrective actions where required.
  • Adhere to all health,      safety, environmental, and quality management policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Microbiology, Glass Technology or a related field


       THE PERSON MUST HAVE:

  • Good communication oral/written and report writing skills 
  • Ability to use Microsoft Suites - excel, words and power point


EXPERIENCE 

Minimum of 1 - 3 years in commercial soda lime silicate glass plant or related industry
