Job purpose
Monitor and control forehearth temperature zones to ensure uniform glass distribution to forming machines.
Responsibilities
•Ensure proper conditioning of molten glass for optimal forming performance and bottle quality. Coordinate production activities to ensure that high-quality bottles are produced in line with the quality plan
•Work with the forming team to support gob formation, weight control, and consistency. Ensure all job change activities are carried out efficiently and in line with production requirements.
•Identify and troubleshoot forehearth-related defects affecting product quality.
•Optimize fuel consumption and improve thermal efficiency of the forehearth system. Ensure proper maintenance and inspection of forehearth equipment, including burners, thermocouples, and refractories.
•Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
•Identify environmental risks in operations and implement control measures to minimize impact.
Qualifications & Experience
•Bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering, Glass Technology or related discipline
•1 - 3 years’ experience in a similar role
•Ability to use Microsoft Suites - excel, words and power point
•Good communication oral/written and report writing skills
